Sunday, August 19 - Larry and Jean Hendrickson and  I went to the Lost Roo restaurant in Long Beach for a nice dinner. I had the mushroom swiss burger with sweet potato fries. We have been coming here once a year for many years. The food is great the atmosphere is outstanding. Highly recommended.

Saturday, August 18 -   Each summer in mid-August the Hendricksons have a family reunion. The event starts with a blind auction. The money is used to pay for next year's reunion. Larry is the auctioneer and does a great job. They raised over $1,000. This is the third year that I have been invited to attend. I was the winning bidder at $35 on what turned out to be a blanket and gift card for $25 at Outback Steakhouse. After the auction we were served a grilled flank steak with fixings - it was really good.

Wednesday, August 15 - Wednesday is Pizza night at the Moose Lodge. Terry [Larry Hendrickson's sister] and Fred Olson joined me for a pizza and adult beverage. The pizza was very good. The Bud Light was refreshing. Enough pizza left over for lunch the next day.
Saturday, August 11 - The local Moose Lodge had a picnic for members. The picnic is 'free'. The group raises money selling raffle tickets. Main prize was a very large big screen TV. Larry Hendrickson worked the beer cart and had just handed a Bud to Les. Stan the DJ Man provided music. He is a professional DJ working many events in the area. He can be reached at 360-244-2530. He is also VP of the Beach Barons Car Club - a group that owns and displays vintage cars. Click here to read more about the Beach Barons Car Club.

Thursday, August 9 - Cheryl wanted to revisit the Cranberry Museum & Gift Shop. A couple years ago she bought some items that she wanted to repurchase - so we did. Then we went to Long Beach and had clam chowder at the Castaway Seafood Grill. We visited many of the gift shops including Stormin Normans colorful kite shop. Cheryl bought a 'The Party is Here' house flag. When we returned we noticed that Ron, Alex and Dan had returned from fishing and had caught their limit of salmon. They have been coming here for years to fish.

Wednesday, August 8 - The Ocean Bay Mobile & RV Park is mid-way up the Long Beach Peninsula. The park is in the little town of Ocean Park, WA. The park uses WebInACan to allow their guests to view their web site and to make online reservations. Will be here for 12 days. In space 34, elevation 32 feet. On the way from Astoria we stopped at the Chinook RV Park in Chinook, WA. This park also uses WebInACan. Park Manager Kathy showed Cheryl some 'black' tomatoes she is raising.
